Quarantine times—local musicians make do

What do you do when your income stream comes to a grinding halt, but you have all kinds of time on your hands? Well, if you're a musician, you do what musicians do all the time—proverbial woodshedding, which in the case of New Times Music Award winner Dante Marsh and The Vibe Setters was already in the works. They've been preparing their video entry for NPR's 2020 Tiny Desk Concert, which you can view on YouTube.

About The Band
Soul singer Dante Marsh won the best R&B category in The New Times Music Awards in 2019. He put together a band to perform with and they won the best performance award that night at the awards show. While performing, the atmosphere and experience was so electric. The crowd responded in a way that was unexplainable. Winning the best performance award struck up a conversation. Conversation topic, Vibe, Said by many that night, "no one else was able to set the vibe like that."
The Vibe Setters were born.
The Vibe Setters are a soulful funk band with heavy grooves and colorful melodies. The band consists of 5 members. Dante Marsh - lead singer, Drake Freeman - bassist, Jon Millsap - lead guitarist, Tim Costa - percussionist, and Gerald Purify - drummer.
Soon to be recording their 1st studio album, the future looks very bright for The Vibe Setters.
